Home to over 20,000 works of art, the Milwaukee Art Museum not only holds art but the building itself is art. One never knows what you might find over the four floors and over forty galleries. As a facility, the original building and additions include architectural work by Finnish-American architect Eero Saarinen, Milwaukee’s David Kahler and the newest addition, the Quadracci Pavilion, created by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava. The Quadracci Pavilion’s Burke Brise Soleil has become iconic for Milwaukee. Seeing the 90 ton structure move is something not to be missed. Check out MAM’s website at http://www.mam.org/. Tour includes admission and transportation. |

Visit some of the sites that have made Milwaukee what it is today. Your walking tour will be guided by lifelong Milwaukee-ian and self taught Milwaukee history buff, Rick Gagliano. The tour will start in the hotel lobby, swing past the Milwaukee Central Library, head down Old World 3rd Street and then stroll along the Milwaukee River Walk. Stops along the way can be dictated by the group. Maybe you’ll stop at the Michigan Street Diner for shake or who knows, maybe you’ll even bump into the Fonz. Tour will be weather dependant. Please wear comfortable shoes. A few websites to check out include: http://www.oldworldthird.org/business.php |
