Distinguished Lecturer Douglas T. Reindl Ph.D., P.E.
The Wisconsin Chapter of ASHRAE is proud to announce that on Thursday, March 16th, Douglas Reindl will be presenting on: ASHRAE Standard 15 – A Review & Update.
The presentation will review ASHRAE Standard 15-Safety Standard for Refrigeration Systems, which is one of ASHRAE’s oldest standards dating back to 1919. Standard 15 serves to specify safe design, construction, installation, and operation of refrigeration systems. Mr. Reindl will provide a review of the standard, recent changes, and common misapplications of Standard 15. This will be a great presentation for designers, contractors, and reps to review how Standard 15 impacts our line of work.
Douglas Reindl is a professor in the Dept. of Engineering Professional Development & the Dept. of Mechanical Engineering at UW-Madison. Mr. Reindl is also the founding director of the Industrial Refrigeration Consortium (IRC) at the UW, and also serves on the Board of Directors of the International Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration. He has worked to provide safe industrial refrigeration systems with a focus on safe use of ammonia as a refrigerant. He has collaborated with some of the world’s leading food companies to improve safety, efficiency, reliability and productivity of industrial refrigeration systems & technologies.
Mr. Reindl is a past chair and member of ASHRAE’s Standard 15 committee, and has published 6 books as well as 100 technical papers covering the HVAC applications. There is no one better to cover ASHRAE Standard 15, and we are happy to have Mr. Reindl come in to present to our chapter.
